Little Love Birds, Maine Photography

Here are some Love Bird shots from last weekend's session. I am not 100% done with the shoot, but I know there is someone who is VERY anxious to see these images. So, because I am in the business of keeping happy clients, I present to you a little Love Bird session.

Susie, I hope your Mom doesn't get mad at me for this... :-P

A-drorable!

My favorite.

Maine Family Photography

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely little family. I work with Grammy and when she heard her daughter, her son-in-law, and grandbaby were coming to Maine in October, she booked me! Her daughter's family lives in North Carolina, so it was a nice treat to be able to photograph them all together. AND they couldn't have picked a better day, the weather was beautiful, everyone was  great in front of the camera, and did I mention it is fall in Maine? Angie, thank you so much for booking me, you have such a beautiful family.

Obviously Gorgeous runs in the family.

Such a proud Grammy

Brylee was so much fun, I could have photographed her all day.

Looks like Momma brought her A-Game!!

One of my favs from the day.

Alright Brylee, be honest... How did I do?

AWESOME!!

November 4, 2010 - Our Dog
He was our first ‘baby’; the first living, breathing thing that depended on us for everything, from feeding him, loving him, to letting him out to pee. He is always happy to see me when I get home, he lies at my feet while I edit images into the night, long after the rest of the house has fallen asleep, he has loved our human baby since day one and he gives us way more than we could ever give him. For this I am thankful.

Happy Thursday!

November 3, 2010 – My Daughter’s Daycare Each day I drop my daughter off at a place, 21 years ago, my Mom dropped my brothers and I off, Daycare. Yep, I send Sweet Pea to the same daycare I went to and the same place I worked, in between sports season, while in high school. Choosing a daycare for your child can be an extremely stressful event, after all you will be leaving YOUR BABY with this person 8-10 hours a day!! Luckily for me, as soon as Donna found out I was pregnant she called me to say “You better be bringing that baby to me” to which I responded “Okay”!! Which leads me into all the thankfulness.

First of all, I am thankful Donna contacted me before I began the search for a daycare! But mostly, I am thankful for all the things they do for my baby M-F, like provide a clean place for her to nap, making sure she is fed, changing her diapers, for all the little projects they help her make and send home to me, for rocking her to sleep when she is fighting a nap, for making her the most adorable little scarecrow outfit for Halloween.

You may say, ‘but that is what you pay her for’ to which I will respond ‘No, that is not what I pay her for’. Believe me, when I was a kid we went to many daycares before this one where they would send us outside for 9 hours a day (year round), make my brother nap on the bathroom floor (yes that really happened), and fed us Ramon noodles for lunch everyday; places where they did exactly what my parents were paying them for ‘watching’ us until someone picked us up, nothing more!

I am also thankful for the pictures they e-mail to me at work. At any time during the day I will see a message pop up in my inbox from Jess's phone. As soon as I see it, I squeal in delight and open the attachment to see what Sweet Pea is up to. She can be doing anything from eating, reading, playing outside, picking her nose, or napping. Whatever it is that she is doing, the picture puts a smile on my face and makes getting through the work day a little easier!

For all of this and way more, I am thankful for the daycare I send me daughter to and all the people who work there.

Happy Wednesday!

A Month of Thanks

This month I am issuing a challenge...to myself. I am going to work diligently to create a blog post everyday. Whhhhat, everyday? Yep everyday! Last year on facebook there were countless posts during the month of November about people, places, and things facebookers were thankful for. I may have posted one thing the entire month I was thankful for, but believe it or not, in the past year I have thought about all the things I could have posted but didn’t. I haven’t seen a status update on the thankfulness, but I am sure they are coming. Instead of posting a single line about what I am thankful for, I am going to create a post everyday on a random noun that I am grateful for. This is very spur of the moment, as in I just thought of this challenge 13 minutes ago, so needless to say I don’t have 29 posts archived waiting for me to hit the 'publish', so this will truly be a challenge!! So here we go...

November 2, 2010 – Today I am thankful for the opportunity to vote. I am not a super politically charged individual, I don’t donate thousands of dollars to candidates, parties, and PAC’s, I can’t recite to a long list of pro’s and con’s of each issue on today’s ballot, or give you each candidate for Governor's proposed plans on Education, but I am thankful for the opportunity; an opportunity to cast my vote on what I believe is right.

Happy Tuesday!
